The Socrel executive has agreed to extend the deadline for the Peter B Clarke Memorial Essay Prize one further time. We didn’t receive many submissions and want to ensure there is enough for a satisfactory competition. Perhaps this pandemic has created conditions that don’t favour postgraduates committing time to put an essay together, and that would be perfectly understandable.
We will try once more. If you’re a current postgrad writing on the sociology of religion, please consider submitting an essay to us. It should be 6-7000 words including references, and the winner will receive £100 cash prize and £50 book voucher, sponsored by Taylor & Francis, as well as registration for a forthcoming Socrel annual conference, when next we are able to meet.
Full details are on our website, including the cover sheet. (The papers still have the original deadline of 15 April.) https://britsoc.co.uk/groups/study-groups/sociology-of-religion-study-group/funding/ And if you are supervising a student, please pass this on for their consideration.
